Splendor in the grass

Yesterday I got go have a photoshoot with a wonderful family full of beautiful children. It has rained a lot in Denver lately, which means everything is lush and green. We went to a wonderful trail that goes by a river for the perfect location. Here are my favorites from the session so far:

I love how the wind caught her hair just at the right moment for this shot.

This one may be my new favorite portrait. I love the intensity of his eyes. When I look at this portrait, I think it personifies a boy on the cusp of manhood.

This one I love because of the little girl's expression. I wonder what she is thinking about.

I caught this shot of the parents while they were just interacting while waiting for me to set up. I love the palpable feelings of adoration that are evident between them.

Here is the whole family. This was the easiest shot of the whole session because nobody had to be looking at the camera!

Very nice work. I think close up portraits are my favorites. They are so intimate and real somehow.

Nice b/w, too. You should try it when Grandma wants a picture w/ all 16 grandkids. Thank goodness for Photoshop.

Great pics!!! I was wondering who was taking them as I greeted you guys on my Saturday run along those trails. Beautiful area!!! We'll have to take a family bike ride and stop by that trail-side cafe on the north-bound trail.-Em

These are awesome. Where are you located? I need family pictures so bad. My husband is a stinker though and hates to take them.

It is really hard for me to pick a favorite but I think the picture of all three girls is hard to beat!

You have a great "eye" - I love your photographs - especially the one of the entire family walking with their backs to the camera - it's like unspoken love.

Fabulous photography - although I think perhaps the subjects should be earning modelling fees :)

Well, this grandma couldn't be more proud. I sent the pictures to so many of my friends that I filled the address box. I don't know if I can pick a favorite. I love the one of Jon and Nik adoring each other...this was no pose...that's just natural. I think the little girl is thinking about her Nana..
